Inaugural Western Dressage World Show —

November 5, 2013 — Emily Johnson of Mountain Rose Horsemanship has just returned from the first ever Western Dressage World Championship Show, put on by the Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA). The event was held November 2nd and 3rd in conjunction with the Pinto Horse Association Color Horse Congress in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The WDAA's first World Show was a huge success, boasting representation from 10 US states, 2 Canadian provinces and 12 different breeds including a pony, a Haflinger and some mules. Every possible ride time over the two days was filled and plans are already in the works to add additional days to the show based on the predictions for next years turnout!

Emily was joined at the show by client, Kathy Lewis and her lovely mare, Simon Says I'm Solo. This was Kathy and Solo's first world championship show and they gave a splendid showing, taking first and fourth place in their respective classes. A terrific congratulations and two thumbs up are in order to both the WDAA and to Kathy and Solo for a stellar first World Show!

We are already planning ahead to next years event and hope you will too!

You can learn more about the WDAA and the fun and many benefits of Western Dressage on their website. Then stay tuned for Western Dressage clinic and event offerings with Emily in the coming year via the MRH Calendar!
